Visual Arts IV

This course is designed to alternate back and forth between ceramic and painting projects. Students will usually have one of each going at all times. The reason for this is so that there is always something for all students to work on. Clay and paint often take some time to dry. If students are waiting on paint to dry (such as watercolor or oil paint), they can continue to be productive on their ceramic project. If they are waiting on a ceramic project to be fired in the kiln, or for the clay consistency to become hard or soft enough, they can be productive on their current painting project. Homework is not assigned regularly, however students are encouraged to research project ideas and take their own photographic references at home. They are also expected to take projects home, when necessary, to finish for project deadlines throughout the year.
